Apple TV control with watch

I have an Apple Watch Series 5 that was set up by my dad since I don’t have a phone and the remote app requires an iPhone so I can’t control my tv with my watch and is there a solution to this?

Note that some Apple Watch features depend on having a companion iPhone, and aren't available on an Apple Watch that you pair using Family Setup.

The following features and apps are not available: Medications, respiratory rate, irregular heart rhythm notifications, ECG, Cycle Tracking, Sleep, Wrist Temperature, Blood Oxygen, Audiobooks, Remote, News, Home, and Shortcuts.
