What's the best mouse for the Mac mini M1?

What's the best mouse for the Mac Mini M1? The USB ports on the M1 have horizontal slots while the ones on my old Mini are vertical and that's how the plugs on my Logitech mouse fit into them. Now of course they can't fit in so I'll have to purchase a new mouse. Any suggestions?

I would recommend the Apple Magic Mouse 2. it can work with the mac's mouse functions that are not available with third party mouses. (such as "smart zoom") and it's rechargeable so you don't need to keep replacing batteries.

Horizontal USB slots are still the same as the vertical ones. Just make sure you match up the ends with the ports.

If you’re unsatisfied with this, you could always get an Apple Magic Mouse or Apple Magic Trackpad.

Here is the link for both of those:

trackpad - Apple

If you’re concerned about the number of ports, you can always add more by shopping online for a “USB-C hub”. What this does, is it allows you to connect an older USB device to a device that has been upgraded to a more modern USB-C, which is the types of ports you have on the Mac Mini.

Here is a link to an Amazon search that may help:

I want to thank everyone who answered and I'm embarrassed to say the mouse plugs do fit in! Guess I wasn't trying hard enough. But there's no opening to put in the plug for my LG monitor. Gee, now I'll have to get a new one? It is old but it works ok. It's discouraging. When I bought my new Mini, that was in September. Twice I went to the Apple Genius Bar after making appointments. But the first time the rep tried to transfer the data from my old Mini (which I bought in 2010), the old one wouldn't show up on the screen they were both hooked up to. Brian said if I had an external drive, he could transfer that way. I had to make another appointment which I got over a month later and went back. And the hard drive wouldn't show up either! He said maybe it was about to lose power. It's an OWS Neptune but still working. I've been busy and also discouraged but maybe I'll just call Apple support and see if they can help. I was thinking of trying to transfer data from my Neptune to the new one but I'm afraid I'll mess up. I also bought a new flash drive to see if I could put stuff on there and try it that way but also hesitant. And now there's a new M2 Mini with a new OS? lol Anyway, I did order the USB charger from Amazon just to have it on hand. Thanks again. :)

Hey! That’s roughly when I bought MY Mac Mini!

Don’t worry about it! We’re all glad to help.

I’m glad you decided to buy the USB-C hub. It helps with, not only the number of ports, but also accessibility to the ports themselves.

Also, I’m not sure if that particular hub had it, but there are hubs out there that have camera cards, and one that works with extra monitor cables/ports like VGA and HDMI.
