I went through your suggestions regarding me loosing all my sub folder contents. I had very import mail stored, I can’t get it back. I rebooted, I deleted the mail accounts and rebuilt them, still nothing in my sin folders, this is devastating to me and the second time this happened !

Second time this happened. Last time I lost all my sub folders tried everything and tech support told me to delete my iPad and rebuild it from iCloud. It did not work just tools me days to get it back to normal. Since then I have been filling my sub folders with important emails, again all sub folders are empty with the exception of my iCloud mail account.
why is this happening, I am loosing confidence in this iPad, I have had many of them over the years, this never happen.

Mail generally is synced from an account such as your iCloud account or Outlook or Gmail, etc. Bearing that in mind, if you try to check your email using a browser such as Safari, are the missing messages there?
Are you able to locate the missing email by searching the Mail app? Search for email in Mail on iPad - Apple Support
Were these messages you specifically moved to the iPad internal storage? Let us know a few more details including if you resolved this once and then the problem returned.

Is this an iCloud email account all the emails are missing from?
Do you have iCloud Mail enabled in the Settings?

Do you see your folders if you log in to your Gmail webmail? Since this is only happening with your Gmail account, you may want to reach out to their support team for further assistance.

Only the mail iCloud account did. Or loose sub files. All my other account sub folders through google were emptied.
