iPhone 13 Phone Options Access

One of the frustrations I have with my iPhone, that I've never figured out - only by hook and crook is how to switch between the iPhone keypad interface and the iPhone phone "options" interface (mute, keypad, speaker, add call, FaceTime, contacts). When I'm on the keypad screen how do I get back to the options screen. When I'm on the options screen I can simply hit keypad and return using Hide. But if I'm on the keypad (white screen, grey circles-black numbers, and green phone icon) how to I get back to the options screen.

And one other issue. It seems as though its a hit or miss but say I call a number which require a keypad input (select 1 for.....,2 for ..... etc). Quite often I've make the selection with my iPhone but that selection is not getting registered on the other line. For example select 1 for (whatever) . I can select 1 on the iPhone keypad all day and nothing.
