Until 2 updates ago (I'm current on IOS 16.3.1), neither my husband's nor my iPhone 12 can access music on our phones in my 2009 VW Beetle. We use an aux input and a verified lightning connection to the power (lighter). The phone does not charge in the car either. Do I need to get a new cable?

We’d be happy to help out. If you’re having isues with your wired connection to your car auxillary port, swapping out the cable is a great place to start. If it’s not charging, start with the Lightning cable that you’re having issues with and then if still having issues with audio, try another aux cable next.
