iPad hotspot asks for a username and password I don't know

I am currently trying to restore an older MacBook Pro (MacBookPro 9,1) in an attempt to force it to run Ventura OS so I can take the Apple IT Training course. I have completely erased the computer and am now trying to get it to reinstall OS X Mountain Lion but my internet is terrible, so I have been trying to use the personal hotspot from my iPad to provide internet for the download. When I click on the WiFi and select my iPad it asks for a username and password. What would the user name be as it cannot be left blank and it is not the name of the iPad (which is "iPad").
