I just saved a screenshot using shift command 4. I don't see it on my desktop or anywhere else. Help!

you can use the keyboard shortcut "shift-command-5" to bring up the recording controls. then choose "options".
and then, in those options, check the "save to" location to see where the recording went.

To take a quick screenshot you press CMD + Shift + 3. CMD + Shift + 4 allows you to point, click, and drag a selection for a screenshot.
