Apple Pen 2 , iPad 9 , pairing

Can I pair an Apple Pencil 2 with an ipad 9 . I know that it cannot charge it. They have charging cases on Amazon , I’m only wondering if it will actually pair and work with the iPad at all?

That model of Apple Pencil will not work with that iPad.

Apple Pencil to iPad 10th gen Recently bought the new iPad 10th gen and I’m very confused on how to pair the Apple Pencil 1st gen because it comes with an adapter but apparently will only charge the pencil ? I have to buy another adapter just to pair it ? Is my Apple Pencil compatible with my iPad Pro? I’ve never used an Apple Pencil (1st gen), and I have not been successful getting it to charge/pair with my iPad Pro (11in.-3rd gen). I bought a new charger and adapter for the Pencil. I should plug in a USB-C to one end and the Apple Pencil in the other, but they don’t actually fit. The lighting-type end fits in one end, but it’s not what any pictures describe nor online. I have no clue what I am doing wrong here. After “charging” it, I tried opening the Bluetooth on my iPad, but the pencil does not appear. I’m at the point where I’m not sure they are compatible.
