Homepod responds with tone and not voice
This seems to be an intentional change with the latest firmware. Where a request is successfully completed in another room HomePod makes a little chime to say it has been done. If it can't be done, e.g. an accessory didn't respond, you'll get notified.

Why would there be no option to return to the audible voice response that has been the standard
that the Homepod has used since day 1? I am all for new advancements but having the option to
override them is important to maintain consistency for those not wanting to change from the previous
model.
