chmod man page

On this page that tells me how to set up Apache on my new Ventura iMac, there's a line that says how to allow the _www user access to ~/Sites. (chmod +a "_www allow execute" ~) It's in a syntax I've never seen before. Where can I find documentation for that command?

It is an Access Control List (ACL).

ACLs are described in the “man chmod” man page under the Access Control List section.

ACLs can provide very granular permissions access or denial, on a per user or group basis.

Google “macos ACL examples” and you will find some other usage.
