Activate Microsoft Office 2011 for mac due to internet connection

Aside from the fact that Office 2011 for Mac was retired in Oct 2017 and no longer supported by Microsoft, new installations anywhere are compromised by Microsoft as they have disabled the license servers for retired products.

New versions of the free LibreOffice Suite now (2/2023) require macOS Mojave (10.14.6) or later for installation. LibreOffice v7.4.5 was the last release supporting macOS 10.12 and later.

Contact Microsoft Support:

Ask Microsoft if they will grant you a new key and upgrade. Take a picture of a receipt, as a proof or purchase. They are the developer of the software.

Based on Personal Experience:

I purchased the Microsoft Office 2021 for mac not long ago, and the license key provided was for the 2008 release! I told MS, and just gave me the correct key. So, if you’re ever having issues activating software of a current release, let the Developer know.
