I can no longer get directions from Siri on my iPhone 12 .. 'I Can't Get the Answer to that On My Phone'

Australia; iPhone 12 mini; IOS 16.3.1 - fully worked flawlessly up until 2 days ago.

When I ask for 'Hey Siri directions to (home or anyone I have in my contacts) I get a response of "I Can't Get The Answer To That On MY iPhone' when connected in the car (bluetooth); response if I just have phone in hand and ask for directions " Ok this is what I found on the web for directions to home, check it out' and a list of websites for google directions.

I have never had this issue previously, I use directions for home and a few relatives constantly without fail.

I have since, checked connection, bluetooth, ensured no earbuds attached to settings or bluetooth, updated from iOS 16.1.1 to latest 16.3.1, rebooted, have checked all settings and volumes in Siri 'show app in search, show content in search, show in app, show on home screen, suggest app, suggestion notifications all remained the same in maps. Spoken directions remain unchanged - directions pause spoken audio/directions wake device/directions on radio all on

You've taken some really great steps to resolve the issue with spoken directions not working. In addition to the steps you've taken, these are also some good ways to resolve the issue:

"If Siri stops responding

Go to Settings.
Tap Siri & Search.
Tap Siri Responses.
Tap Prefer Spoken Responses to hear Siri speak responses, even when Silent mode is turned on." If "Hey Siri" isn't working on your iPhone

If spoken directions continue to not work, Contact Apple Support for more guidance.
