Slow Wifi Network after iphone 16.3.1 update, do not update

Since updating to 16.3.1 network performance on this iPhone11 has degraded severely enough to make some apps unusable. And before you suggest the usual suspects the following has been done.

iPhone rebooted
iphone network reset
Router rebooted.
Apps updated

Other iDevices (even another iPhone11 that has not been updated) has typical acceptable network performance on the same wifi. Only the device with the update has issues.

If this is another attempt of apple to force a device upgrade I will return to android.

I cannot recommend this update to anyone.

So in my case it ended up being VPN configuration. Note that VPN was NOT enabled during this entire problem. However, once the VPN configurations were removed internet performance returned.

Why a VPN configuration borked internet performance is unknown.

Posting this in case it helps someone else.

I thought it had to do with the VPN that I have installed with AVG Mobile Security. I had these problems a few yers ago. But even with the BPN disabled I still have internet connection issues. I tried a different WI FI but the issue is still causing connection issues.

I am having wifi issues with the new update and I am not using a VPN on IPhone 14 Pro Max. I called apple and they put in a repair order. I did mention to them that the issues started after the 16.3.1 but they mentioned that they had no record of issues related to Wi-Fi with this update. Repair team, here I go!

my husband are having similar issues, slow connection on and off wi-fi, at home and work wi-fi. Im also dropping calls, assuming this is because of WiFi calling. We’ve done all the apple trouble shooting (network reset, clearing history, cleared cookies, hard phone reset, home WiFi network speed diagnostics), I even took my phone to Verizon, still having issues. I can’t watch a video without it stopping constantly, pages won’t load and apps are slow. Very frustrating.

Hi from the time I have updated for IOS 16.4.1 I m facing issue with NO SERVICE on my mobile and WIFI connection.

Apple is a international company how can they make such blunders and we users have them so much still our iPhones create problems what is the solution for this who is going to help from today whole day phone is not working I have done every possible basic things to reset the network

This has been ongoin for over a year and Apple has done nothing to adress it. My theory is that the private wifi adress addition causes these problems, yet theres no universal way to turn it off. The internet speed of cellular and wifi has been bad for so many users, where Apple support only tells you to restart your stuff and look for the newest hardware. Its annoying, theres no fix, Apple does nothing, not gonna buy Iphones anymore once I am done with my current one.
