The display on my Apple Watch shuts off after about 10 seconds. When I tilt my wrist to look at it, it does not come back on unless I tap the face. Is this normal?

The display on the face of my Apple Watch only stays on for about 10 seconds or so, and then shuts off. I cannot make it come back on unless I tap the face or push the button on the right. It seems like when I first got it when I tilted up my wrist to look at it the display was on, something changed and I don’t know what it is. Thank you very much.

By the way, Theater mode is also useful when you want to save your watch battery, during the night if you activated sleep analysis and do not want a flash with every movement.

Theater mode is activated the same way you deactivated it.

Thank you very much that was exactly what happened. I do not know how I accidentally turned on the theater mode but when I turn it off, everything was back to normal. Thanks for answering. I really appreciate it.

On your iPhone go to the Watch app > Display & Brightness and turn on Wake on Wrist Rise.

On your Apple Watch go to Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on Wake on Wrist Rise.

Dear @Gillfitzhugh,

Have you tried to remove « Theater mode » ? Tap the screen, slide up to show options and touch the orange masks to make Theater mode inactive.
