You're able to customize and save templates using these steps: Manage Numbers templates on iPad - Apple Support

Edit a customer template

1. Open Numbers, then in the spreadsheet manager, tap  at the top of the screen, and then tap the custom template you want to edit.

If a spreadsheet is open, tap Spreadsheets or  in the top-left corner to go to the spreadsheet manager.

Custom templates appear in the My Templates category of the template chooser. If you want to use a custom template that doesn’t appear there, you must first install the custom template (see the instructions above).

2. Make your changes, tap , tap Export, then tap Numbers Template.

3. Tap an option:

• Add to Template Chooser: Your template appears in the My Templates category in the template chooser.

• Send Template: Choose where you want to send your template, or save it to Files.

The edited template is saved as a new version. You can rename the new version and delete the first version if you don’t want to keep it.
