When does Passkey start at Apple?
When does Passkey start at Apple? As a member of the importing companies, something should slowly be happening here and the Apple ID should be usable with Passkey. Why buy a FIDO Key? I'm not considering that!

Back when Apple announced this, there was some media attention. Several sites, like this one, posted a small list of sites and services that supported passkeys. One of those is Google, and given how much people want to give Google all the intimate details of their lives, you would think this would be big, but it doesn't seem like it.
As a member of the importing companies, something should slowly be happening here and the Apple ID should be usable with Passkey.
What are "the importing companies"?
You would think that even Apple should support passkeys. Maybe they do. When I try to go to an Apple Support document to learn more about "Sign in with passkeys on iPhone", I just get an error message.
I think you are correct, with really heavy emphasis on the "slowly" part.
Why buy a FIDO Key? I'm not considering that!
I see a lot of people confused about this part. Passkeys are completely separate from security keys. I think you might be able to use one of those "security keys" with passkeys. Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows? Maybe go ask that guy who had $300 million locked into his "security key" and accidentally threw it away.
At this point, the only thing that is really guaranteed is that all of your personal and financial information will be stolen and posted on the dark web long before you have any chance to secure it with a passkey.
