Not getting a resolution higher than 2560x1440

Dear community & Apple support,

i have:

The brand new mac mini m2 pro with ventura 13.2.1 OS

and a iiyama 32 inch monitor (G-Master GB3266QSU-B1 Red Eagle)

i initially had it connected via a hdmi cable but ive now also tried connecting it with an thunderbolt-to-Displayport cable (usb-c to dp 4k @ 60hz)

Somehow i cannot pick a higher setting than 2560x1440 in display settings.

The 2560x1440 is labeled as default and when i click show all resolutions; 2560x1440 is the biggest option.

funny enough if i connect the same display to my windows laptop, with a normal hdmi cable, i do get higher resolutions offered.

Can anyone please assist or fix this problem because ild like to enjoy my mac mini in all its glory (being 3840x2160)

thanks

Mac mini, macOS 13.2

Some people have reported that force-quitting the windowserver or deleting its plist file worked for showing additional resolutions. Open Activity Monitor, search for windowserver and click the force quit button.

To delete preferences file: In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist

drag the file to tge trash and logout and back in

i have either

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.dat
or
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowmanager.plist

there is no windowserver.plist

Interesting.

I only have

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist

You could test by moving both those files out of the Preferences folder, place them, for example, on the Desktop, then logout and login and see if that makes any difference. You can always put them back if you find that it did not help.
