I have had a gray or dark border around the outer edges of my MacBook pro screen. I saw a lot of ideas here about how to correct it. What worked was figuring out it was a screenshot that I had not saved. I managed to get the screenshot up[ and saved it. The border around the edge of my screen went away.

OK i see now you don't have an issue.
I turn all that off in Screenshots Shift Command 5 > Options
then I use primarily Shift command 4 or Shift Command 3
Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac - Apple Support
