Ipod classic, Iflash, can't check for updates without internet

Hello

I have modified 2 ipods with the Iflash and had no problems with iTunes recognizing and reformatting.

I have now done my husbands.

What is different now is I moved this computer to a room with no internet.

When ITunes sees the ipod it asks if I want to check for updates.

Now, I'm pretty sure I have always had it marked in settings to not check. I don't remember if this happened to the last two pods. That was 2years ago

When it comes up, I check no, that small window closes, I try to do select reformat, but the small window comes back up and asks to update iTunes. I don't see any other selection except on the page that recognized my iPod to restore or format which ever it is, and the only thing I can do there is click done.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a solution to try?

I am using Windows 10

Hello ThinLizzy2,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with a prompt to update iTunes. We recommend installing any updates needed for iTunes to resolve the issue: Update iTunes on PC - Apple Support

"Update iTunes on PC

You can install iTunes from either the iTunes Download website or the Microsoft Store.

Check for iTunes updates from the iTunes Download page

If you install iTunes from the iTunes Download page, you can manually check for updates to iTunes, or set iTunes to check for new versions automatically every week.

In the iTunes app  on your PC, do one of the following:

  • Manually check for new versions of iTunes: Choose Help > Check for Updates.
  • Have iTunes automatically check for new versions every week: Choose Edit > Preferences, click Advanced, then make sure the “Check for new software updates automatically” is selected.

When automatic updating is turned on, iTunes checks for new updates weekly. It checks only after you have quit and restarted iTunes at least once during a seven-day period.

Check for iTunes updates from the Microsoft Store

If you install iTunes from the Microsoft Store, new versions will be automatically downloaded; however, you can manually check for updates in the Store.

  • Open the Downloads and Updates pane of the Microsoft Store app."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
