Connecting Ipad 2022 to a projector via HDMI, sound output to bluetooth speaker

Hi all,

I connected my Ipad 2022 with a IOS 16 to a projector via HDMI, but my audio can only be played from the projector, is there a way for the audio to be played through bluetooth speaker but not the projector?

Thanks for helping!

When connecting your iPad to an external monitor or projector via HDMI, both video and audio are directed to HDMI. Many users have reported that it is not possible to send audio to Bluetooth Speakers while the HDMI connection is active.

Perhaps consider that if you route your HDMI connection via an AV Amplifier’s HDMI connections - connecting both the iPad and Monitor/Projector to the AV Amp’s HDMI ports - the AV Amp can strip the audio for playback.
