I am experiencing exactly the same nightmare as you.

My AirPods 3rd generation used to work fine on my laptop PC I use for work (Teams, etc.), but the AirPod Pro 3 microphone I had to buy recently simply DOES NOT work on Windows 11. I can only hear the sound. As soon as I activate the microphone, I can't hear any sound anymore. As soon as I select another microphone input, I can hear my music again.

If someone has a clue, please do not hesitate to provide me with some serious feedback as I have tried many options and possible fixes on the web, and I could not find the right fix yet. :-(

I think I have finished my research. I never did get the microphone to work on two of my Windows 11 systems. I got a Bluetooth Wi-Fi dongle (5.0) on one and turned off the built-in Wi-Fi. The Pro 2 microphone works fine with that dongle using 1 Channel-16bit-8000Hz.

Maybe Apple would know why, but the system that actually works in Windows 11, is the latest Desktop 13th Gen processor along with an Intel AX 411 Wi-Fi card. I have no idea if that is in any way the reason for that one machine's success. The AX 411 does use a CNVio interface as opposed to the two AX 210 cards which use PCIe.

Hopefully, some type of update will show up soon.

There may be a situation where the Microphone is only usable on one device or possibly one device and a phone, in Windows 11.

I mentioned earlier I got the microphone to work on one system. Today, after going through the hard reset process, after forgetting the device on my iPhone, I was able to get it working on another system. But, the first system quit working and I was not able to get it working.

So Possibly, the microphone in Windows is restricted to one install where the sound works on several. I have not finished that avenue of testing, but pairing the headset with another device may not allow the microphone to work on the new device until another hard reset process has been completed.

My AirPod Pro 2 mic doesn't not work in either of my Win 11 laptops (Dell & Lenovo), but my last gen AirPod Pros do. Spoke with Apple Support last week and they had me hard reset the new AirPods, and afterwards the mic actually worked when I tested it with Windows sound settings and in Zoom. However, the next day I used them and the mic didn't work again.
