The first step to do in the situation you describe is to ensure the case and subsequently the AirPods are getting charged. Use a known-good cable and wall adapter that work with other devices to try to charge the case for at least 30 minutes per If your AirPods won’t charge. Test your AirPods with another case if possible to see if they will charge to isolate the behavior further.
