iPhone 12 - No internet connection when connecting to Wifi

I've had a strange experience:

• My iPhone 12 (iOS 16.3.1) shows "No internet connection" with my home wifi network

• My router is fine, all my other devices, including an iPad were connected and working

• Restarted by router, just in case. No luck.

• Restarted my iPhone twice. No luck.

• Reset network settings. No luck.

• Switched off Private Wi-Fi Address, Limit IP Address Tracking and Wi-Fi Assist, then restarted. Success! iPhone connected to my Wi-Fi again.

• However, when I switched those settings back on, I found that choosing "Limit IP Address Tracking" caused the phone to show the "No internet connection" warning again

• Again, I switched off Private Wi-Fi Address, Limit IP Address Tracking and Wi-Fi Assist, then restarted. Then I turned them back on, one at a time (Private, Limit and then Wi-Fi Assist). Now, this time, it's working again and stable. Very odd.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, might be worth trying the steps above.

Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...

Connecting to Wifi is the first part and then getting connected to the Internet is the second

  1. If you connect to Wifi, doesn't necessarily mean you are connected to the internet. If you are not connected to wifi could be a problem with iPhone settings or Router/Modem Settings
  2. If you are not connected to the internet is the sole issue of Router / Modem Settings. Contact your ISP immediately

For your Internet connection.

  • Over Cellular: contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider). The agency who issued the SIM to you
  • Over WiFI: Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), the agency who provided the Internet Service on your Modem/Router to you
