Watch + CarPlay = No text notifs...

I could help you with CarPlay if I knew how it worked in a Honda (I only have Ford CarPlay).

As for notifications on both devices (watch and phone), you can't. It's how Apple designed notifications to work, one or the other, not both.

You can join the crowd and request a user selectable option. Just fill out and submit this form:

You could be right about CarPlay being the same. I don't use "Text message notify" in my F-250 or my F-550 and the reason...

Through the speakers, it alerts me about an incoming text and marks them as "Read".

That's fine and dandy if I'm sitting behind the steering wheel, but it's awful when I wasn't in the truck while the engine is running and the CarPlay connected.

What I discovered, several hours later, was a text among the threads that I didn't know about.

I'd reply to them saying, "Oh gosh! I just realized that you sent me a text 5 hours ago."

I undone the Text Message Notify a long time ago and I've never looked back.

I'd rather get the notification on my watch and then hold the CarPlay button on the steering wheel to get Siri's help with sending a reply or I just even call them instead.

The "Text Message Notify" is a setting in the stereo in the two Ford Pickups.

It's the setting that I had thrown a checkmark into the box of, but it's also the same checkmark that I ended up undoing because of my own issues.

I got a notification on the truck speakers and then I could click a button on the stereo to have the text read out loud.

I prefer that the notification just goes to my watch while I'm driving (since the phone is locked).

So... Just to recap, I can get notifications on the stereo (I unselected later). I can & do get notifications on the watch while I'm driving (and the phone is locked).

I'm good on all of my Ford's.

My concern is that the Ford CarPlay is likely different and even if they are all the same, I promise you that the stereos aren't the same 😉
