I recently switched from iPhone to Samsung. I have a backup of the iPhone from iTunes which is locked. Smart Switch can restore the Samsung phone from the iTunes backup but it now cannot because my iTunes backup is password locked. Is there any way to unlock the iTunes PC Backup and restore it on to the New Samsung phone? I no longer have iPhone, so I have to unlock it and use it by the Samsung Smart Switch.

If you have forgotten the password, or were not aware that encryption had been enabled, consider that it might be any computer, Apple ID, Wi-Fi password or device PIN that you've used in the past, working from the assumption that you might have reused a common password that you were using when encryption was first activated. See About encrypted backups on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support for details.
To make an unencrypted backup you would need to restore the existing backup to an iPhone, then turn off backup encryption and make a new backup. You cannot do it would a suitable device running the same version of iOS or better and presumably with as much memory as your old device. Buy one second hand and sell it again afterwards?

The 5s won't cut it. And I don't think there is another way other than to restore the backup you have to a suitable device, then make an unencrypted backup of it. Perhaps someone else has a better idea.

I do have a old iPhone 5s, can I use it to unlock the Backup in the PC?
What device was the most recent backup made with, and what version of iOS was it running? You can't restore a backup of an iOS 15/16 device to one that runs iOS 12.

I had an iPhone 13 128GB with newest update. I would only like messages and contacts, pictures from it. I don't care about the apps or anything else. I just need those things
