Hi there Chris Winkler1,

You should be able to move your Favorites from their imported location to the main Favorites in Safari. To do this, follow the steps below on how to organize your bookmarks from the Apple Support article Sort, alphabetize, or rearrange bookmarks in Safari on Mac - Apple Support:

1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, click the Sidebar button  in the toolbar, then click Bookmarks.
2. Drag a bookmark or folder to a new location.

More information on managing your Safari Favorites can be found here: Add websites to your Favorites in Safari on Mac - Apple Support.

Best!

I have a ton of favorites I constantly access by clicking the menu bar and after dragging a few of the imported Favorites to the new Top Star Favorites, I quickly run out of real estate and have to start dragging them 6-12 inches up making more work.

I found if I just drag the imported Favorites Folder up to the New Star Favorites, I can easily take each one out and place above the imported favorites folder, and do not have to scroll!

Also, why can't they all be selected & dragged over that way?

Hi Chris Winkler1,

The easiest way to move your favorites from that "Imported 2/22/23" folder is going to be to drag it to the new location and drop them as mentioned in the article above.

The Tab group Favorites folder cannot be deleted at this time.Check our more information about them here: Edit and customize Tab Groups in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

You can submit feedback to Apple directly here: Product Feedback - Apple.

Have a good one!

Chris Winkler1,

You may select Edit Bookmarks from the menu in the screenshot, and this will help to allow for editing of bookmarks. Folders that are able to be deleted, which may not be all, can be right-clicked or Control-clicked and choose delete.

This area can also help with expanding the 'Imported' folder to select all and drag them out so that they would individually appear in the list.

If you happen to have feedback to provide to Apple the best place to do so is on the dedicated feedback site here: Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers.

Hi Lindsay, thank you for your reply, which leads to other questions!

  1. My favorites are in the imported favorites folder and i have so many, any easy way to get them in the Pre-installed favorites folder at the top with the Star?

2- There is a tab group favorites folder i don't want and can't get rid of, any easy way to do that?

3- And here is my old bookmarks menu, besides the stuff at the top to add & hide, it shows the first bookmarks & no favorites or folders. That is what want on the new mac.

Here is the bookmarks on the new one and its showing everyting in folders, the Favorites Folder, Tab group favories, Bookmark menu, which i draggedout of the Imported folder. How do i make it to just show the bookmarks and not all these folders?

Thanks in advance for your help!

No, you are missing the point. Look at my old Bookmarks menu above, the first image. Under "Add to Reading list" there are no folders, it goes right to bookmarks. I don't want any folders there, I liked it how it was.

Now look at the new one here, it's got 4 stupid folders, I don't want them. I just want my darn bookmarks to show, why can't I have that?

So many things Apple does to make it better makes it worse for me, more work, more clicks, its beyond annoying.
