Problems reporting temperature with Siri HomePod mini

When asking my HomePod mini for the temp and even the outside temp for my location at the exact current time, she reported 57 degrees. I let her know ‘ this info is incorrect’. She asked me if there was anything else she could do and I said ‘correct your weather data’ and she then reported a temp of 46 degrees which was correct.

Asking Siri to correct her weather data seems to be an acceptable work around. However being more than 10 degrees off on outside temp makes for some very disappointing morning dog walks if one forgets to challenge the data.

Is there any way I can trust my HomePod to provide accurate weather info first thing in the a.m. Or should I just go back to using Weather Channel app on my phone?

Hi DarkSkiesDreamer,

Is location services enabled for the Home app on your iPhone? Location services allow your device to accurately provide information for the GPS location.

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Service
  2. Confirm it is enabled
  3. Scroll down to the Home app
  4. Confirm it is set to "While using the app" and Precise location is enabled

Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
