ANSWERED! How to use Chrome over Safari when using long-press, two-finger tap and "Search Web" function in MacOs, iOS, whether in a browser or iBook, etc.

The rather inscrutable but pervasive problem many have encountered and voiced concern with via blog, Reddit and, even here, on Apple's forum is WHAT'S WITH MY DEVICE OPENING THE SAFARI BROWSER WHEN I SELECT SEARCH WEB FROM THE LIST OF PROMPTS GIVEN?

The following passage was written not so long ago by a user essentially asking the same thing. And, they weren't alone in questioning their phone's/computer's odd choice when electing the "Search Web" feature. The problem had to be one one of the following: 1.) Rather shoddily, Apple engineers overlooked program software which does not recognize or overrides the user's establishing Chrome as default browser. Perplexing given Apple's elsewise cohesive default to Chrome for all other tasks when opening the browser is asked. 2.) Apple is wickedly employing the "search web" function as a way to remove us from the Chrome browser and remind us of its native "superior" browser, Safari.

Now, given the YEARS of the issue being brought up and cited, even on this forum, and Apple's insistence on radio silence regarding it... one could tend to believe the second option is the reason. BUT I'm hear to tell everyone the awesome reason Apple has done this. Why they have eschewed an official announcement regarding their reason to purposely open Safari when you hit "search web" eludes me. Perhaps because they know it's a kinda stick-it move to Google's search engine monopoly? Because, THE REASON you can hit "search web" and Safari opens is because you can set Safari's default search engine to ANY OTHER VALID SEARCH ENGINE. You see, they are, even when within the Chrome browser, offering us a chance to widen and even privately expand our search capability. It's actually giving us more choices. Don't believe me? Just hit "look up" from the prompts instead. Everything that populates in that function WILL open in Chrome. And, if you just scroll lightly down, the option to "search web" within Chrome is right there. Identified with the Chrome icon right next to the term. And, so, they aren't hiding or taking away our capacity to stay within Chrome for our searches. Instead, they have craftily allowed us a shortcut to access another search engine. If not of interest to you, hit "look up." Again, not sure Apple's motive/s on keeping this nifty functionality mum. While we know Apple doesn't like explaining/defending many of their choices, the non-disclosure of the benefit offered with this function seems obtuse. Did this clear the problem up you guys? Let everyone including Apple know!

"Even though Chrome is set as the default web browser (via System Preferences), iBooks’ (on imac not iPhone) ‘Search Web…’ feature continues to open Safari?

How can I force it to use Chrome?

Is there an Automator process or Terminal command to override it‘s stubborn preference for Safari?

iBooks’ Search Web… command always opens Safari.
