Your profile is showing macOS 12.3. If not already, update to macOS 12.6.3, or upgrade to Ventura 13.2.1, and then visit Pages on the Mac App Store, click the open button an if there is an Update button, click that.

What happened when you launched the Mac App Store, signed in with your Apple ID, clicked on the Pages entry in the Mac App Store (not the initial Open button), and checked if there is an Update button present?
In an open Finder Window, click on the Applications Favorite in the sidebar, click on the existing Pages application and press option+cmd+i? What version is it?
Ventura 13.2.1 is the last update until Apple releases 13.3.
I did update to Ventura 13.2.1, but same message. :(
Well, I'm still stuck not being able to update Pages and Numbers. Not sure what the problem is.
In App Store I signed in, found Pages, chose update and same result. In my applications folder I have Version 12.2.1
