Function Key Shortcuts not working on Keynote following 13.2.1 Update

Hi


When making presentations on Keynote I like to assign a function key shortcut for bullet points. Since the recent OS update the options are blurred out so I can't do it (screenshot below). Does anyone know how to fix this? The same thing happened with Pages and Keynote when Ventura was first released but I think the issue got fixed with Apple releasing software updates. I've checked Pages, and the function shortcuts still work fine, it's only Keynote that has been affected this time.


Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ELG90,


Testing things out within safe mode can help to rule out some login items as being part of the cause. This page can assist with the process if needed: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support


The steps will vary for an Apple silicon or Intel-based Mac, though the steps for Apple silicon Macs may be found here:


Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode
1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.
Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.
2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.
3. Select a volume.
4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.


If it also happens in safe mode, then testing with a newly created Admin user account on the device can see if it's a system-wide issue or specific to the existing user account: Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support
