BenQ EW3270U display not scaling properly after Ventura update

I installed Ventura 13.2.1 today, and now my second monitor's display won't scale properly. (Model BenQ EW3270U).

See the screenshot for the options I get when I try to adjust the resolution. I don't know if you can tell from the screenshot, but the "Default" setting is really fuzzy, and if I go to 3850 x 2160, all the text is finally clear but all the windows/texts are tiny and hard to read.

  • Do you think this will be addressed in a new update?
  • Am I missing a setting?
  • Do I need to get a new monitor?

Hello computersandbananas,

For help with connecting a second display, check the information below found in the article here: If your external display is dark or low resolution

"Check connections

Make sure that your display's power cable and video cable are connected securely and correctly at both ends. Learn more about how to connect a display to your Mac.

If you're using an adapter with your video cable, the adapter must support your display's resolution and refresh rate. Thunderbolt and USB-C adapters must also be compliant with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4. If you're not sure about your adapter, try a different adapter or replace the video cable with one that doesn't require an adapter.

If the display is connected to a Mac laptop computer with a closed lid, make sure that the Mac is connected to power and using an external keyboard and mouse."

You can also view the section "Configure display settings" here for more helpful information: Connect a display to your Mac

As the screenshot provided doesn't appear to be blurry, be sure to check your connections and the  display's documentation for any alternate options on resolution configuration. Change your Mac display’s resolution

Best.

Hi, nothing has changed for my display adaptors and monitor except for the Ventura OS update. The blur is hard to see, but my eyes can definitely tell that the lines aren't clean and crisp. I'm thinking this is a MacOS issue, as seen in these article:

https://piunikaweb.com/2022/12/28/macos-ventura-13-1-broke-external-display-resolution-more/

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/lost-resolutions-on-4k-monitor-after-upgrading-to-ventura.2367334/

But perhaps I need a new cable/adaptor/both? Any suggestions of what I should buy? Thank you!!!
