mac wont download google chrome fix

hey everyone!! Thought i would just explain. what worked for my mac when it comes to downloading chrome
Every since the I upgraded to Ventura my computer has been acting a fool not opening windows like it should, not downloading programs and and various things. I was getting super frustrated because now chrome was just outright not working at all. I was going to delete chrome and redownload it from the site. The problem is when i hit the download button nothing would happen. then i would go to the download arrow in the upper right corner of safari and it would always says download stopped. So i'm getting more and more irritated by the minute and went to the forums to see what i should do, I tried deleting the chrome folder as suggested, i tried all of the different ways suggested on here to get the file to download. I cleared the history, cleared the cashe and still didn't have any luck.
But one of the sites suggested i go into preferences in safari and to change a box. I thought to myself. if this is all because a box was uncheck i was going to scream. certainly it couldn't have been that cause i was not in preferences changing anything when it started acting a fool , By now i was willing to try anything though, so i dont know what version of safari this man was on but i dont have a preference box on my safari, so i chose to check out settings> websites>downloads> and then a box with all your individual websites came up, asking you to allow them to download or deny them access/ I actually only had a couple websites in the entire box as i cleared the history and all that in previous steps. basically this box allows you to give the computer the permission it needs to be able to download items from the internet. chrome wasn't in the box because i was unable to download it yet, but at the bottom of the box there was a line that said "when visiting other websites" i hit the drop down menu button because for some reason mine was checked to don't allow, I moved the box to allow and Viola!! I hit the jackpot!! i was able download chrome right away and my. computer isn't acting crazy like it was previously!! So in my case it came down to a simple checked box that was somehow checked during the process of upgrading to ventura!! I hope this helped someone out there that has been having trouble just like me. thanks for hanging in there i know i can get wordy!! so thanks
