My notes app went blank and made my notes “disappear”

My notes app went almost blank and only showed “Folders” title, edit and new note sign. Even after saving a new test note, it didn’t show up. Upgrading the iOS only recovered the Icloud notes but nothing else. Tried the mail, on my iphone notes/mail settings etc but my notes aren’t reappearing. Looks like the notes app glitched and deleted whatever notes were saved “On my Iphone”. Lots of info and daily use stuff was saved there and I lost all of it, so disappointed 😔 help me out!

You'll want to check the notes option is on for any third party accounts used. You'll find those steps below in the same article you started from.

"Check your account settings

If you store your notes with a third-party account or email service, like Gmail or Yahoo, check your settings:

In the Settings app, tap Mail.
Tap Accounts, then tap the email account that you want to check.
Make sure that Notes is on.

If you use Notes with more than one email account, just repeat the steps for each account. If your account is missing, learn how to add an email account to your device."

Hi, the thing as I mentioned earlier is that everything was fine but suddenly something happened to the Notes APP. Basically it went almost blank except for the things I mentioned. I wrote a new note to test and tried saving it, but as I went back to the Folders page on the app, there was no new note. My default setting is new note will be saved on “ on my iPhone account “ so since that account completely disappeared even the new note couldn’t be seen.

I have always had On my iPhone account on my notes that means it was always ON in the settings but after the disappearing notes event, I checked and that on my iPhone Account was turned OFF in the settings.
