Viewing a specific date when in calendar month view

Whenever I’m in the month of calendar I can’t click on a specific date to see that date in detail. I’ve seen some comments about this some years ago but nothing recent. Is there anything i can do to see a specific date of activity when I’m in the month view of the calendar?

Double tap on the event. You can also just tap on the date.
