How do I watch replays of MLS games?
I am only seeing the shorter recap option for replays. How do I watch the entire game replay on the Apple TV app?

It may not be presented as the primary choice in the current interface, but it is available:
Go to the game’s Details page, scroll down to the ‘Play live game’ tile, press-and-hold to see the available versions: ① Recap, ② Full game English, ③ Full game Spanish.

I have since learned the issue I am experiencing is while it is true I have a subscription to MLS I do NOT have a subscription to AppleTV. That is why I am unable to watch full games.
For reference I am a season ticket holder for the Revs and as part of my yearly membership I was given a code to redeem MLS for free on AppleTV. What I didn't realize is that does not include the cost of subscribing to AppleTV. Doh!
In order to obtain the benefits of watching full games, etc. I have to subscribe to AppleTV for $8/mo, then I would be able to use the MLS subscription.
It’s terrible. On the app (on iPhone):
Absolutely horrible UI to find a match replay. I suspect there are other ways but I haven’t found them.
To watch full game replays - after selecting the game you want to watch, ignore that "Watch Recap" button and scroll to the bottom of the page, where a black window says "How to Watch MLS Season Pass." The fine print beneath says "Press and hold for 2 (or 3) versions." The button you press and hold seems to depend on your remote. On my Firestick, it's just the main Select button. On Comcast, I have to press the INFO button (instead of the OK button, which I press for everything else.) That brings up your 2 or 3 options - Recap, 90 Minutes, and sometimes Spanish. I have begged Apple to move those options up below the "Watch Recap" button, and they continue to ignore me.
This does work on the AppleTV app on my Samsung SmartTV but you have to scroll all the way down past all the highlights tiles to the very bottom of the page. The very last tile lets you press and hold to show all the watch options of which the full game replay is available.
This is WAY too buried and I agree the fact the final score is plastered all over the home page tile of the front door of a previous match completely destroys the ability to watch a game for your team behind real time.
Im incredibly disappointed
we are able to watch full games, but not without seeing the score which is annoying.
I've finally figured out how to watch replays and hide scores on Roku.
On Roku, click on the Settings in the Apple TV app, hide sports scores.
Then find your team, in the east or west conference.
Then click on that, scroll all the way to the bottom, and click and HOLD on the how to watch option.
There will be 3 options, highlights, or full replay in Eng or Spanish.
I have still not figured out if there is a way to do it in the browser. Which really sucks, as that is the way I would like to watch replays when traveling.
As ajlimberis describes here, after selecting the game you want to watch, you have to scroll to the bottom of the page, where a black window says "How to Watch MLS Season Pass." Select that, then hold that INFO button, and two or three options should appear (Highlights, 90 minute game, and sometimes Spanish). Good luck. After many weeks of aggravation with Apple & Comcast, it now works every time for me.
Eureka! We are a Comcast/Xfinity household. My son got on google chrome on his PC. On Apple TV Season Pass he found the previous games and now they show up on our TV automatically. When he got to the highlights he saw a black box with Season Pass with how to watch above it. You have to scroll all the way to the bottom. He clicked on that. A separate box popped up and in the box it had two options to watch. One was highlights. One was the full game. He started watching the full game and went to the tv. He found a resume playing button and it worked. You will see the final score. I imagine we will have to do this for each game we want to watch.
On TV find the game you want, scroll down to the MLS +subscription box at the bottom of the page and below that there is some small print that says to select and hold for three seconds and then you get options.
On a game page at the very bottom (and I see this same thing on Apple TV, Roku, and my iPhone) there’s a section that lets me select a version including the full game.
I did furnish a bug report. It would not hurt to do the same. I'm a software QA tester myself (not for Apple or anything like that); I think I see how this edge case could have gotten overlooked.
If everybody else who experiences this would also use the link Urquhart1244 posted (Feedback - Apple TV App - Apple) to report the issue, it may help get it prioritized. Use professional language (don't be insulting or demanding), use the Report A Problem label, and explain the problem as clearly as possible. Maybe suggest that an alternate method for accessing the full replay be added. Let's see if we can get this nailed down for a future software update.
This functionality does not currently work on the Comcast/Xfinity version of the app. Hold the button all you like, you're getting the 7 minute recap and nothing else.
I'm in the same boat regarding trying to watch the St. Louis vs San Jose game. For whatever reason, there is no way to view the full match replay of this particular game (tried all of the other tricks in this thread - when you scroll down to the bottom, there aren't three options that you can access when you press and hold the play button, only the recap).
The app design currently leaves much to be desired for those who cannot watch a game live. As someone who doesn't want to know anything about a match before watching it, it is currently difficult to do so. Yes, you can turn off scores (which I've done). There are still some bugs related to that. But even if that works, they are currently placing match highlights right next to where you have to go to access the game. Very frustrating. I've submitted feedback (both bug reports and feature requests); hopefully they listen and make changes.
I'm wondering if there is a 24-hour delay in the ability to watch full-match replays. On Sunday afternoon I tried in vain to get the replay for the Minnesota-Colorado game, which was played the night before at 7:30 p.m. The only option available then was the 7-minute recap. Just for fun, I tried again late Monday morning. Lo and behold! The full replay was suddenly, and mysteriously, available. Go figure.
I hate the new MLS-Apple deal.
