How do I watch replays of MLS games?

I am only seeing the shorter recap option for replays. How do I watch the entire game replay on the Apple TV app?

I'm in the same boat regarding trying to watch the St. Louis vs San Jose game. For whatever reason, there is no way to view the full match replay of this particular game (tried all of the other tricks in this thread - when you scroll down to the bottom, there aren't three options that you can access when you press and hold the play button, only the recap).

The app design currently leaves much to be desired for those who cannot watch a game live. As someone who doesn't want to know anything about a match before watching it, it is currently difficult to do so. Yes, you can turn off scores (which I've done). There are still some bugs related to that. But even if that works, they are currently placing match highlights right next to where you have to go to access the game. Very frustrating. I've submitted feedback (both bug reports and feature requests); hopefully they listen and make changes.

I have since learned the issue I am experiencing is while it is true I have a subscription to MLS I do NOT have a subscription to AppleTV. That is why I am unable to watch full games.

For reference I am a season ticket holder for the Revs and as part of my yearly membership I was given a code to redeem MLS for free on AppleTV. What I didn't realize is that does not include the cost of subscribing to AppleTV. Doh!

In order to obtain the benefits of watching full games, etc. I have to subscribe to AppleTV for $8/mo, then I would be able to use the MLS subscription.

It’s terrible. On the app (on iPhone):

  • Be sure you have scores turned off or the game will be ruined.
  • click MLS season pass
  • click a team name you want to see
  • On the team page scroll to the bottom to Past Matches
  • Click the match
  • scroll to the bottom of that page too
  • How to Watch at the bottom says “3 versions” as a link
  • click that to find the full match.

Absolutely horrible UI to find a match replay. I suspect there are other ways but I haven’t found them.

The game I want to watch is only available in a 7-minute recap, not in the list of "Past Matches."

This is more than frustrating because I'm a season ticket holder. Only one of the four people in our group--the named account-holder--was given direct access to MLS Season Pass, but the club's ticket rep assured us that he could share access via Family Sharing. That turns out to be total BS. The problem with that is you apparently have to use an Apple device to accept the Family Sharing invitation, and I don't. The only way I can watch is to buy a subscription. I hate MLS!!!

Depends what device you're watching. If you're watching on an Xfinity cable tv, after you've selected the past game you want to watch scroll down to the Season Pass box. Tap on the info button on your remote and 2 or 3 choices will appear. Select 90 minute replays in English or Spanish. On an Android phone, after you scroll to the Season Pass box, click on it to get the 3 choices.

I too am having this same issue. I want to watch yesterday’s match between Red Bulls and Columbus Crew… only option is a 6 minute recap! I paid for the season pass and I subscribe monthly to Apple TV. I can watch other full matches in multiple languages except the team I want. I have a ticket in with Apple support but I suspect this is all I’m gonna get… **** poor Apple / MLS… straight rubbish…
