VAT refund Apple Store Bangkok using Visa Card for tourists

I've seen some posts saying people bought their apple products in Apple Store Bangkok using their visa card as tourists, and the employees said they weren't eligible for VAT refund.

I'm traveling to Thailand next month and want to buy a new iPhone, however I need to be sure if I will be eligible for that VAT refund or not? My intention is to pay for it using my Visa debit card and request the VAT refund form too.

How can I check that?
