Couldn’t communicate with a helper application.

Hi..


Working in Ventura and getting this message when trying to compress a folder. Does anyone have any ideas? Rebooted and still did the same thing.


Help appreciated.

you can try SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies



you do not say what compression software(?) Within Preview the default is the baked in Archiver.app there are many alternative third party however, one example keka


Look at Log-in items and give permission to to your compression helper software, if applicable(?)
