Apple Pay requires government / regulatory approval and the cooperation of banks and merchant payment processors. It is not available in India at this time.

So Indian Govt. made a lot of changes with regards to data laws especially in cases related to payments and financial information.

  1. Anyone offering a payments platform or solution in India must store the data locally and not in some other country.
  2. If you store Credit/Debit Card information, then it needs to be tokenised (to prevent fraud. for instance, even if the servers get hacked, the hackers will only get the tokenised number and not your actual one) to store the card data.

Apple is not complying with these laws and hence not providing the option to use CC/DC and also not offering Apple Pay in India. They argue it's a breach of privacy for the users (Interestingly, the localise data in China and even have handed over the iCloud Keys to the local data management firm that handles the Chinese iCloud servers for Apple).

I have 3 quastion for apple Support Community

1.Why Apple Pay is not working in India...??

2.Why can't we see all the call details in the call log, why only two days remain in it..???

3.There is no call recording option in the phone even though there is no such law in India....???

If Apple Pay is not started in India, then no problem, but start Apple Wallet in India so that people do not have to roam around with Debit & Credit cards.

  1. READ the responses already posted in this thread.
  2. Because the call log holds the last 100 calls. No more.
  3. Call recording is heavily regulated in most of the world. It would be impossible to produce a phone with that functionality built in that would be legal everywhere the phone is sold. You can use a 3rd party service for this if you want.

Having debit and credit cards in the wallet when Apple Pay is not available is completely pointless. You would not be able to use them at all.

Whatever rules they apply in India, they can do in all other countries as well, why have they modified the rules in China according to that. Rules are rules. When it is there, it should be the same in all the countries. Why this discrimination? Anyway, some important features which we get easily in Android but not available in Apple. Like you can see recent calls only for two days. What will you do if you want to see the history of old calls in emergency? At that time, Android would be fine for you with this phone worth lakhs. Apple was known for invention but now it is not a matter, it seems that we are using the phone only for showoff. If you are taking such a price, then technology and software should also be given better. After taking any Apple product, it feels like you have to be ready to spend money for everything or services.
