FaceTime video black screen on iPad 2

When establishing a FaceTime call between an M2 MacBook Air and an iPad 2 the latter does not show any video; the screen remains black. While calling the same iPad 2 from an Intel-based MacBook Pro via FaceTime, no issue with the video; all works fine.

Is there any known issue with either the M2 or the 1080p camera on the new M2 MacBook Air, which the old iPad 2 cannot process? What fix to this issue could there possibly be?
