The iPhone 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max support 1 physical sim card and 1 eSim wether purchased in the US or anywhere else except China, Hong Kong and Macao where they support 2 SIM cards, but no eSim.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max supports 1 physical SIM card and 1 eSim when purchased anywhere in the world except China, Hong Kong, Macao or the U.S.
U.S. Models support 2 eSims only, no physical SIM card tray is available.
In China, Hong Kong and Maco, it supports two Physical SIM cards. No eSim support.
