mutes while i am on a call

After accepting the call, after approximately after 5 minutes conversation is muted for both sides. It continues for 5 seconds. This keeps repeating. Also, If I am on speakerphone it automatically switches to phone’s receiver speaker.

Iphone mutes during a phone conversation Does anyone have an idea of why your phone will mute during a call. I can no longer hear the person i am speaking to but if i press the mute button on and off, i can begin hearing them again.

Good news! I resolved my own issue by removing and then reinserting the SIM card.
