Apple Music stuttering Playback

I'll start saying that i know this issue is well known and documented.

I've used many of the modern streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, and only Apple Music makes me mad about this issue.

It's really annoying listening to your favorite tracks and getting playback stutterings and skips, is just unnaceptable, i had a Macbook Pro 2012 about 10 years, now i bought a M1 Pro MacBook Pro and this is still an issue.

In the other hand, i know Apple listens to their users and have a great feedback but this problem is OLD, and gives Apple Music a really bad taste along other streaming services which lack of either catalog or sound quality.

Please get this annoying problem solved ASAP!!!, it's just not fair.

You can obviously fix this, if this is a buffer issue and such you should improve pre caching, if the problem is the SSH connection, you should improve the tunnel as we many have special internet connections, is the year 2023 for god sake.

I really like Apple Music but now the issue feels so unacceptable that i had to get an Apple Community profile just to leave this feedback.

I agree 100% with every item you’ve stated. Insanely frustrating to say the least. This has been a long time issue, extremely more so since IOS 16. Despite all the updates since, it only gets worse.

Hi trmus, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We also understand that you've made some research and found out that other people are experiencing a similar issue.

We'd like to set your expectations. Some issues may exhibit the same behavior, but in most cases, the root cause is different. This is the reason why we handle every issue individually. If you know anyone experiencing a similar issue, please let them know that we are more than happy to help them.

Next, we’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

  1. Have you had the chance to restart your MacBook Pro?
  2. Have you had the chance to try a different Wi-Fi network?
  3. Are you using the built-in speakers or external speakers?
  4. Does it help if you download the songs?
  5. Also, do you have a different Apple device that is signed in to the same Apple ID? If yes, are you experiencing a similar issue with your other device?

These details can help us in isolating the issue.

In the meantime, let’s test if the issue persists on a newly created user account.

  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
  3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
  4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
  5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
  6. Click Create User."

If you are experiencing the issue when signed in on a different user account, please check if the issue persists while on safe mode. Safe mode does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility.

Performing this step may help resolve the issue, or further isolate the issue.

Below is an article to help guide you through the process.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Take care!
