I've got an iPhone, a Macbook Pro and I just got an Airbook. For some reason when I delete a message on the AirBook it's deleting the message on ALL devices, none of the other devices do that. How can I turn that off so I'm only deleting messages on the AirBook "locally" not "universally"?
Enable iCloud Messages everywhere.
Which is my preference, as it means I don’t have to chase older conversations (housekeeping) on each device, and all conversations appear everywhere.
Or disable iCloud Messages everywhere.

When iCloud Messages is enabled, deleting messages on one device deletes messages everywhere; that’s the way this works. (Below documentation is for iPhone, but Messages on macOS works the same here.)
If that wasn’t happening, then iCloud Messages was not enabled. And if iCloud Messages isn’t enabled, all devices don’t share the same view of messages.

I sort of understand what you are saying, but where I get confused is if this is an iCloud messages setting why is it only affecting the Airbook and not the other devices? Is the AirBook iCloud messages have its own setting and if so, how do I reset that one?
