e-Sim in Israel? Is my iPhone a brick there?

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and am traveling to Israel. Looking at posts here and online it seems my iPhone will be a brick there. Apple has not gotten any Israeli cell carriers to offer an e-Sim. Is that true? Does anyone have experience with Airalo who, if I understand correctly offers an e-Sim that uses cellular data purchased by Annatel? Only thing I could find is not great speed because it isn't an actual carrier. Any advice or additional knowledge would be helpful. Should have kept my iPhone 13 with a sim tray.

"Apple has not gotten any Israeli cell carriers to offer an e-Sim"

Apple has nothing to do with the carriers decision to use eSIMs, this is strictly up to the carrier.

Contact Airalo or Annatel and see if they offer eSIM service.

You can also contact your current carrier and ask them if they offer an international plan to use in a different country.

I understand that, but Apple replaced the SIM tray, which worked in every county to which I have traveled, with an eSIM that now does not work - that is a big problem. Sure there are international plans by Verizon, but they have never been as reliable or inexpensive as a local SIM card, which is why everyone buys local SIMs. Reduced functionality in a new more expensive iPhone 14.
