iPhone 12 Pro Max sudden death

My mom found out that her iPhone 12 Pro Max died suddenly last Saturday morning, it was fully charged and working the day before. We bought the mobile phone in March 2021, which is less than two years old. I went to Apple support and they said the rear system needed to be replaced and it would cost $500. My mom has never dropped or overused her phone, has anyone had the same problem? I think it's a quality issue rather than a user issue.

It doesn't matter what you think, if your mom wants her phone to work again, then take it back to the Genius bar and have it fixed. IF she doesn't then she can buy a different type of phone.
