Why does my usb-c wall adapter for my iPhone keep turning on and off, so to speak?

iPhone 11, iOS 16

USB-C to Lightning AC Adaptor failed quickly, twice. Using this on iPhone 11. The first adaptor lasted 4 months or so. The second failed in one month. I don't have another device to determine whether it's the cable or the adaptor. Any suggestions?

if it does it in all sockets you connect it to then I would say it's defect
