Why no option to turn off Raise to Wake

I'm not a fan of Raise to Wake. If I want to wake up my device, I'll do it on purpose. I don't need it turning its screen on every time I slightly nudge it.

On my iPhone, it's easy: Turn off Raise to Wake in Display & Brightness

But on my iPad Mini 6, there's no option there to do that. Both have iOS 16.3.1.

How do I turn this feature off?

(And why in heaven's name make the options _different_ for iPhones and iPads, for aspects they clearly have in common?)

Hi flibberjibbet,

Thanks for following up. Raise to Wake is not an iPad feature, so there may be other things to consider. Are you saying this happens when you move the iPad without touching the display or the Home button?

Do you have a case on your iPad? If you do, it might be helpful to remove it temporarily and test to see if that's a factor.

Have a good day.
