Isn’t there a way apple can help me if I lost my recovery key?

I’m so frustrated. My old account is literally attached to my fingerprint and face. Just give it back… there is no security issue, it’s me… trying to fix my mistake that lost me everything.

I panicked about downloading a pdf… then in a panic… I saved the code to notes… and signed out. Then… as I just changed my password… and saved it to keychain… I forgot my password. Now, I have lost everything digital from the last 10 years… pictures, writing, work stuff, memories, songs...

They really can’t help you? There’s no way without a stupid code saved to notes in the account I can’t access?

This is actually ridiculous. I understand I am part to blame here, but what an awful security feature. I didn’t ask for it and now I lost everything and the people who told me to pay and save everything to the cloud, can’t help me get it back...

Thanks apple for protecting me from me and essentially stealing all my information by not giving it back. Someone help me, please.

Probably not.

Creating a recovery key turns off account recovery. Account recovery is a process that would otherwise help you get back into your Apple ID account when you don’t have enough information to reset your password. Learn more about using account recovery instead of a recovery key.

Using a recovery key is more secure, but it means that you’re responsible for maintaining access to your trusted devices and your recovery key. If you lose both of these items, you could be locked out of your account permanently. With that in mind, it's important to keep your recovery key in a safe place. You might want to give a copy of your recovery key to a family member, or keep copies in more than one place. That way you always have your recovery key when you need it.
