Hi Keebl,

"GarageBand supports 44.1 kHz sample rate, 16-bit depth uncompressed audio files."

You will not be able to change the sample rate from 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz. You'll find this information within the following resources.

Apple lossless encoder bit rate for AVR compatibility I’m trying to trouble shoot why my Pioneer Sc05 AVR will not play the .m4a files. The Pioneer manual states it does play .m4a. However… In the manual (under the AAC heading) it further states that it reads .m4a MPEG-4 AAC LC with sampling frequency 32kHz to 48kHz. Quantization bitrate 16 bit. I poked around in the settings of my Apple Music app and it only shows that I can select Apple lossless and coder but does not give any further details. I selected one of my .m4a files & R clicked & selected show Info & it said 44.1kHz. So the Pioneer AVR s/b OK with the sampling frequency. But I do not know what the bit rate is for the ALAC files I created? If it is 16 bit than that is not the issue but if Music app created .m4a with a higher bit rate…it is out of readable spec for my AVR. How can I tell? [Re-Titled By Moderator]
